The Theory: Nicolette "Nicky" Parsons (Julia Stiles), Jason Bourne's (Matt Damon) only reliable ally, is killed off at the start of the film, kickstarting the events which bring the legendary agent once again out of the shadows to bring down another conspiracy and exact revenge. Why It Could Be True: Because something devastating needs to happen to make a fifth Bourne feel necessary considering everything the character has gone through at this point, and what's more compelling than killing off the only other character to appear in every single Damon-starring Bourne movie other than Damon himself? Why It Probably Won't Be: For one, it would feel too similar to Marie's death in The Bourne Supremacy, plus these films always work so well when Bourne has someone to team up with, and given how well-liked Nicky is, the ready-made chemistry with Matt Damon is right there.
