4. Steppenwolf - Justice League

Comic book movie villains don't often survive their first appearance (unless they're a Loki or Lex Luthor or Joker type), so it makes sense that Justice League's big bad (who is albeit working for a bigger bad) won't make it out of the film alive. He's also only the precursor for the "main event", who is probably due to show up in the second Justice League movie, and his death could be the trigger for Darkseid realising he really ought to "do it himself".

Given that he's already been confirmed as only working for Darkseid through coercion, it would make sense that Steppenwolf could be convinced to turn against him, and it absolutely wouldn't come as a surprise if he'll end up sacrificing himself to defy his nephew.

He's a lot more than just a monster, and it definitely feels like that sort of arc is coming.
