13 Characters Who Will Probably Die In 2017's Biggest Remaining Movies
8. Skurge - Thor: Ragnarok
Played By: Karl Urban
In the comics, Skurge is initially a villain who ends up aligned with the Enchantress (no, not that weird wriggly dancer from Suicide Squad), after falling in love with her. She basically manipulated him, involving him in schemes alongside Loki and he eventually swapped sides, helping destroy the ship of the dead and delaying Ragnarok. He ultimately also sacrificed himself to allow the heroes to escape Hel.
The film version of Skurge is probably going to follow the same story, as his "fantastic arc" - as Karl Urban described it early - won't be as simple as him just being a bad dude. He also spoke to IGN to reveal his character motivation:
"When we find Skurge, he's operating the Bifrost because Heimdall is missing in action, and then pretty soon after that Hela shows up. Skurge sees the writing on the wall and has to make a decision whether to die or join her, so his instincts of self-preservation take over."
There's no way that doesn't lead to him realising that he has a moral obligation to help the heroes at the end. And if that is the case, he's going to go down exactly the same way as he did in the comics, heroically holding off Hela's forces as Thor escapes.
