The conspiracy to end all conspiracies often revolves around the famed Voynich Manuscript, an ancient book written in a mysterious language that no one has been able to crack. Some say the codex is the key to discovering alien life, while others say it’s simply a hoax.

The one thing that everyone can agree on is that the book was written in the 1400s and isn’t simply gibberish - it has consistent language, written with a recurring alphabet, and its pages are filled with illustrations.

The only problem is that no one on Earth has been able to decipher what it means or who wrote it. Despite the world’s best code-breakers having worked on the Voynich Manuscript, its mysteries seem destined to be locked away forever.

How Would The Movie Look?

Not unlike The Da Vinci Code, a movie based on the Voynich Manuscript would need to be a globe-hopping conspiracy thriller in order to succeed. By focusing on the secret order of the world and how the manuscript may be hiding the key to saving the world from an unstoppable force, the film could be a massive blockbuster based on a confounding piece of history.

What it can’t be is a movie about a guy trying to crack the code of the Voynich Manuscript, failing, and then giving up. Even though that’s the true story, the only way the Voynich Manuscript would make it onto the big screen is with a bit of creativity and a whole lot of action.
