13 Crucial Death Scenes Ruined By Terrible Acting

11. Everything About Tommy Wiseau's Suicide Scene Is So, So Wrong - The Room

The Scene: After finding out that all of his friends have betrayed him, Johnny (Tommy Wiseau) begins screaming and crying, trashing his apartment (including throwing a TV out the window) as he thinks about all the good times with his cheating fiancee Lisa. He then rips up Lisa's red dress, pulls out his gun and says, "It's over...God forgive me" before putting the gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. Lisa and her new lover Mark then enter and Lisa incredulously asks, "Is he dead!?" before breaking down in tears. Lisa then asks Mark if they still have each other, and Mark angrily rejects her, blaming her for Johnny's death. Finally, Denny comes in and shouts at Johnny to "Wake up!" to no avail (surprisingly enough), as the movie comes to an end. Why It Sucks: Though in fairness there's not a single well-acted or competently-written scene in Wiseau's cult disasterpiece, this is the big climax of the movie and clearly intended to stir some emotion in the viewer that isn't uproarious laughter. The writing the actors have to deal with is admittedly awful, but Wiseau's idiosyncratic, almost alien-like line readings do little to help, and his co-stars aren't much better, especially Philip Haldiman, who plays Denny and goes totally over-the-top.
