13 Disappointing Recent Films That Should've Been Great

What Was Expected

An Oscar-worthy triumph with the great cast, fascinating story and George Clooney's strong directing track record leaving no reason not to be optimistic.

What We Actually Got

This one was a big shock and without a doubt the biggest disappointment of 2014. This is a film with an amazing cast and story, but it takes well over an hour for the story to actually get going, and once it finally does there's simply nothing there.

The truth is, the trailers didn't show a lot, and that's because there's nothing to show. It's one of the most laid-back, relaxed, effort-free films you'll ever watch where nothing much is ever really going on.

Juggling different tones and many different characters and locations, as well as being intensely boring, this is also a complete mess. Admittedly, it's watchable at times and is a two-star film so it's not irredeemable, but it's simply about as bland and shrug-inducing as they come.
