13 Dumbest Movie Plot Twists Of 2018

2. Woody Harrelson Is Carnage Outta Nowhere - Venom

While not a plot twist in the most conventional sense, Venom's cameo from Woody Harrelson in the role of famed criminal Cletus Kasady aka Carnage was most certainly a big surprise.

In the movie's mid-credits scene, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) visits San Quentin prison for "the interview of a lifetime", only to be greeted by Harrelson's Kasady, kitted out in an hysterical red wig that looks like it came straight out of Poundland.

As if the comparisons to Annie weren't enough indignity, Harrelson's then forced to spit the outrageously on-the-nose sequel-bait line, "When I get out of here, and I will, there's gonna be carnage," followed by a hammy grin.

As neat as the idea of Venom battling Carnage in the inevitable sequel is, this was pretty much the cheapest, laziest and most idiotic way possible to tease that showdown.
