12. Snoke's Past Will Remain A Mystery

Perhaps the most shocking moment in The Last Jedi was the surprise demise of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) at the hands of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Given that most fans expected Snoke's backstory to be doled out over the course of the trilogy, Rian Johnson seemed to deliberately upend this largely for shock value. It sure as hell worked, and effectively cemented Kylo Ren as a God-tier antagonist.

While some are still hopeful that Episode IX will delve deeper into Snoke's origins, it's a pretty optimistic stance, especially considering that Johnson himself has written the story treatment for the film, and from what we've seen so far, he doesn't seem much fussed about the character.

As such, there will probably be a few scattered lines about Snoke at most, with the focus squarely set on elevating Kylo Ren's villainy above all else.

After all, isn't the mystery of Snoke's history far more intriguing than getting some ham-fisted exposition dump long after he's died?
