11. The Knights Of Ren Finally Make Their Mark

After The Force Awakens bait-and-switched audiences with the Knights of Ren in its marketing campaign and The Last Jedi heavily implied they were Kylo Ren's fellow students at the Jedi Temple, it would be a major missed opportunity to not finally include the Knights in Episode IX.

Rian Johnson has stated that the Knights weren't included in The Last Jedi because there was no room for them, and though they could've replaced the Praetorian Guards in Snoke's Throne Room, he felt it would've been a waste of the characters.

This suggests Johnson holds the Knights in a high regard and has quite possibly written them a significant role for Episode IX, likely serving as the final obstacle before Rey can have her ultimate showdown with Kylo Ren.
