The Role: Bruce Banner aka The Hulk (Eric Bana) Why Nic Cage Would Have Improved It: Ang Lee's Hulk was criticised for its slack pacing and rather depressing lack of energy. Eric Bana gave a strong performance in the role of Bruce Banner, though his stoic effort was ultimately poorly matched with Lee's plodding, sedate style: this was a movie in sore need of an extremely lively, energetic performance to bring it out of the doldrums. And who, exactly, does lively and energetic better than Nicolas Cage? He'd nail the duality of the character perfectly, and the moments in which Bruce transforms into the big green dude would have given Cage plenty of room to just go nuts as well as add a few more clips to all those infamous "Nic Cage freakout" YouTube videos. Sadly in 2003 performance capture for the character hadn't yet been employed, but still, seeing a Hulk that somewhat resembled Nicolas Cage would have been something too awesome for words.
