13 Hollywood Stars Who Voiced Favourite Studio Ghibli Characters

13. Liam Neeson - Ponyo

Liam Neeson is making a habit of having to rescue his daughter. This time around the Taken hardman isn€™t up against a European prostitution ring, however, he€™s locking horns with a five-year-old boy whom his daughter has befriended. Under normal circumstances this wouldn€™t be a problem, it€™s only that Ponyo is a goldfish and her father is a half-human scientist wizard that lives at the bottom of the ocean. Families. It€™s nigh on impossible not to recognise Liam Neeson€™s voice, though he suits the part of Fujimoto well enough that after a while you stop thinking he is about to use his particular set of skills to find and kill poor little Sosuke. Ponyo was the eighth film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki for Ghibli, and despite being a little more family friendly than a lot of his work it really is a great watch for all.
