13 Huge Marvel Movie Mysteries That Are Still Unsolved
7. How Was The Bifrost Fixed?
At the climax of the first Thor movie, the God Of Thunder confirms his worthiness and his commitment to Asgard by destroying the Bifrost Bridge to stop Loki's nefarious plan from being a possibility. It's seen as a potentially universe-changing decision that is absolutely not taken lightly and which would surely have lasting consequences, including Thor being lovesick and depressed at not being able to see Jane Foster again.
Obviously, Odin's powers supersede the Bifrost, so he was able to send his son to Midgard to see Jane again using dark magic and all is well for Thor. He doesn't fix the Bifrost though, which is fairly key.
But then, when the time came for Thor: The Dark World to disappoint everyone, the bridge was somehow reinstalled and everything was fine again. No mention of how it was fixed or anything like that: it was just back to being okay. Surely something deemed so catastrophic in the first film bears explanation in its sequel?
