13 Huge Mistakes That Are Killing The MCU
9. Too Much Of It Is Just Filler
In regards to the first 19 MCU films (Iron Man to Infinity War), with the sole exception of Thor: The Dark World, every single one of those movies had a clear purpose and moved the cinematic universe and its characters forward. But ever since Infinity War, that's not been the case.
This problem really kicked off when the franchise first started to decline - that is, after Avengers: Infinity War, not after Avengers: Endgame, as many have argued, as neither of the films in-between those two Avengers films were very good.
Both Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel largely felt like filler, especially the former, and their main purpose seemed to be setting up Endgame... and both of them only did that in the credits scenes.
Sadly, since then this issue has only gotten worse. Black Widow is one of the most pointless films in recent memory, both of 2022's MCU films so far felt like filler, and as for the shows - oh boy, the less said about that the better.
Who wants to see another round of What If? What on earth is the point of a Marvel Zombies spin-off? Echo (Alaqua Cox) and Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) were both good villains, but who asked for spin-offs centred on them? That's right, no-one.
