13 Incredible Looking Comic Book Movie Characters (That Actually Sucked)

3. Malekith - Thor: The Dark World

Played By: Christopher Eccleston

Of all of the things wrong with Thor: The Dark World, one of the things that comes up repeatedly is the inferiority of Christopher Eccleston's Dark Elf leader Malekith. But before the film was released, there was quite some positivity about the casting and that was dialled up even further when we got a first look at the villain.

In the comics, the race were blue (or orange sometimes) and Malekith stood out as a harlequin faced, flowing-locked rockstar among them, whose face was half blue and half black. That look might have worked on the page, but it would have been a bit much for the screen, so the decision to make Malekith more recognisably Middle Earth-like (with the addition of heavy facial scarring) was inspired.

He was still terrible, lacked motivation and was mostly just boring, but at least he looked pretty memorable.
