2. Venom

If there's one thing the upcoming Tom Hardy Venom movie should take from Spider-Man 3, it's the design of Venom himself, who was closely modelled on the comic book character (thanks to the assistance of some impressive special effects). When he was revealed for the first time, he looked exactly like he should have, and comic book fans should have rejoiced.

Sadly, though, he was also very obviously shoe-horned in at the studio's insistence by a director who really wasn't all that keen on using him at all and didn't really bother to make sure he lived up to fans' expectations.

The result was a good-looking Venom who was a lie of a character, half-baked and half-interesting with an Eddie Brock who was more annoying than compelling.
