8. Van Helsing
Hugh Jackman’s appearance as the famous vampire hunter in 2004 may not have been a critical success. It might have been campy, and entirely action-orientated, and full of mediocre effects, but it’s always held a warm place in our hearts for being all those things. We love you, Van Helsing.
Subject to a TV series in recent years as well as a slew of other adaptations, it was only a matter of time before someone thought it would be a good idea to cash in on the early 00s nostalgia and muscle Jackman out of the picture. And that someone is Universal Studios.
Coming as another chapter of their new Dark Universe, Van Helsing will be recreated under the studio’s extensive budget - though that didn’t do much for The Mummy last year. At least we will always have 2004.
