5. Confronting/Threatening Loki Alone (The Avengers)

Prior to the huge battle with the Chitauri in New York at the end of the Avengers movie, Tony Stark worked out that Loki would be basing himself at the top of his own Stark Tower to put himself in the spotlight as he sought to take over Earth. Arriving in his armour, Stark opted to leave it behind as he entered a room on the top floor. Despite the fact that a demigod with a weapon of near unlimited energy, who was hell-bent on taking over the planet, was present in there, Stark entered unarmed. Not only did he confront the villain, but he would also go on to actually threaten him (after offering him a drink, of course - this is Tony Stark we're talking about after all). That was a very ballsy and bad-ass move, given that the Asgardian/Frost Giant could quite easily have obliterated him with a single attack.
