13 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Jason Voorhees

4. Freddy Krueger Almost Met Jason As A Child

Yes, that's right, instead of their first meeting coming when after they had both been sent to hell, Freddy Krueger was almost written in as one of Jason's camp counsellors at Camp Crystal Lake. Wait, what?!

Lewis Abernathy was one of the first hired in a script frenzy set up by New Line Cinema to get the perfect merge of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street properties. His script, titled Nightmare 13: Freddy Meets Jason, sees Freddy Krueger as the original man that drowns Jason at Camp Crystal Lake, with Jason vowing revenge. It was later extended by other filmmakers with a grim storyline of child abuse and the drowning coming as a cover up, but thankfully THAT movie never made it to fruition.

Not so thankfully though, Abernathy's script was never picked up either. Later in his version, Jason and Freddy duke it out in a boxing ring in hell, with ropes made out of entrails and heads mounted on the corner posts. Announcing the fight is Ted Bundy, who gets shot in the head by Lee Harvey Oswald - and if you think that's crazy, then I'm sorry to tell you it's nothing compared to the disgruntled Hitler who watches from the audience.
