Throughout Friday the 13th, there's a pervasive, strange sound that Harry Manfredini sprinkled through his soundtrack, with the actual elocution of the noises debated by fans for years before being confirmed as an uttering of 'Ki Ki Ki, Ma Ma Ma.' But why on earth are these nonsensical syllables in there at all?

Well, Manfredini created something that played into the tormented mindset of Pamela, with the words 'Kill' and 'Mom' zeroed in on. By whispering into the microphone and distorting the sounds with an Echoplex machine, Manfredini replicated Pamela Voorhees's line at the end of the movie - 'Kill her, mommy!' - in the most minimal style possible.

The result is an unnerving, unnatural muttering that courses throughout the movie to make Jason's presence felt through breathy commands despite not being there, a bit of supernatural persuasion that works to excellent effect.
