13 Movie Scenes Everyone Misunderstood As Kids

10. The Jackson Pollock Line - Guardians Of The Galaxy

It may be too early for grown-ups to go back to Guardians of the Galaxy and finally get that Jackson Pollock joke they totally missed as kids, but there's no doubt that, in a few years, a bunch of teens are going to be flipping their lids over this infamous joke that James Gunn cleverly snuck into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What Kids See: Gamora (Zoe Saldana) laments the filthiness of Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) ship The Milano, leading to Quill's quip about his bedroom that, "Filthy? She has no idea. If we had a blacklight, it would look like a Jackson Pollock painting.€

So, Peter sure likes to paint, huh?

The Reality: Quill is, of course, referring to the fact that his sexual activity is so rampant and, well, messy, that the remnants of countless seminary deposits are stained all over his room.

It's a great gag because 99% of kids will have no idea what a Pollock is, and even if they do, they won't make the connection to Quill's sexual activity. But once they hit puberty, it'll snap into place and the scene will takes on a whole different meaning.
