13 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Came Out In 2018

5. The Amityville Murders

Believe it or not, The Amityville Murders is the freaking 21st entry into the Amityville Horror franchise, which began in 1979 before quickly falling into straight-to-video obscurity, before being revived in 2005 with a Ryan Reynolds-starring remake and languishing in the home video dungeon ever since.

Though the vast majority of the recent sequels were made for far less than $1 million, it's still insane that they continue to be profitable enough to keep the stagnating franchise afloat, especially given the series' utter lack of visibility with audiences.

The trailer for The Amityville Murders tells you everything you need to know about this movie: it's badly written, acted and directed, while embarrassingly cheap for a movie based on a supposed brand name.

It's honestly more impressive than anything that the series is still chugging along, even if a 2019 movie hasn't been announced...yet. Considering that the series churned out four movies alone in 2016 and another three in 2017, it does appear to be slacking somewhat.
