13 Movie Tag-Lines That Blatantly Lied To You

Tag-line: “How Did They Ever Make A Movie Of Lolita?”

This tag-line was for the original 1962 movie, and not the 1997 remake. Given the movie's subject matter, its tag-line may seem to be a reasonable question, but it certainly is, nonetheless, completely pointless.

It's unclear whether the tag-line wants you to believe that somehow the film isn't actually based on the book of the same name, or whether it's simply asking for forgiveness for the uncomfortable tone of the film.

Maybe this one didn't lie to audiences in the strictest sense, but given that it's no more than a hanging rhetorical question earns it a spot on the list.

After all, they DID make a movie of Lolita. Then, 35 years later, they made another.
