13 Movies With Hilariously Inappropriate Product Placement

1. Lance Armstrong - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

Product Placement: It's worth prefacing this entry with the fact that given his immense sporting success, Lance Armstrong is very much a product in of himself. With his immense financial worth and the massive success of his Livestrong campaign, he was a sure-fire commodity by the time his cameo appearance in Dodgeball rolled around. The scene involves Armstrong inspiring Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) to not just give up and keep fighting to win his gym back. One of the more memorable parts of the monologue is such: "I was thinking about quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer, all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and I won the Tour de France five times in a row." Why It's Inappropriate: Because, after Lance Armstrong's doping was finally confirmed in 2013 by the man himself, it just makes this scene hilariously awkward and embarrassing to watch. It's supposed to be a rare moment of straight-laced earnestness in the film, but when the guy coaching Peter is now known to be such a huge fraud, it's absolutely impossible to take seriously. One can only imagine the smugness coursing through the man's veins when he filmed this cameo. And now, he's partially ruined an otherwise awesome comedy. What next? Chuck Norris was actually CGI the whole time? Are there any other ridiculously inappropriate product placements you've caught in movies? Shout it out in the comments!
