2. KFC - Killer Joe

Product Placement: Easily the most memorable and stomach-churning scene in a film filled with plenty of both involves Joe (Matthew McConaughey) punching Sharla (Gina Gershon) in the face and forcing her to simulate oral sex on a piece of fried chicken, as he holds it to his crotch and pretends to climax from her going to town on the hunk of meat. In fairness, there's never a single KFC logo featured throughout the entire film, but when you hear fried chicken, what name pops into your head? KFC has basically become an all-catch label for fried chicken: that is how immense their monopoly on the product really is. Why It's Inappropriate: Because perhaps no food in the history of cinema has been made to look as unappetising as fried chicken is in this scene. Seeing Gershon painfully, tearfully wrap her lips around the meat as the skin, fat and grease all slide off the bone in excruciating close-up while McConaughey faux-orgasms is enough to make anyone want to swear off eating KFC for, well, at least until tomorrow's dinner. Amusingly, several press screenings for Killer Joe served up boxes of KFC to journalists, which no doubt repeated on them a short time later.
