8. Hellboy

There were few jonesing for a Hellboy reboot - even with its apparent R rating - when Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman spent years trying to get a third Hellboy film off the ground in vain.

As talented a director as Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones) is, the first trailer for Hellboy 2019 doesn't inspire much confidence, with a wonky, overtly comical tone rife with gags that just don't land.

David Harbour seems like a fine enough Hellboy, but as appealing as him teaming with Marshall seems in theory, this reeks of a project that's just not going to materialise as expected.

And that's probably why it's being dumped in cinemas between Shazam! and Avengers: Infinity War: Lionsgate of all people has no faith in it.
