13 Movies That Destroyed Solo: A Star Wars Story At The Box Office

6. Clash Of The Titans

Box Office: $493.2 million

Remember when Sam Worthington was a big thing post-Avatar, and studios were quick to shove him in every low-effort blockbuster movie going? No? Well, nobody could blame you for forgetting that he starred in this 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans.

What's most bizarre about this cynical cash-grab of a CGI-slathered action flick is that it actually paid off for Warner Bros. Budgeted at a sensible-ish $125 million, Clash performed well both domestically and abroad, damn-near quadrupling its price tag in the process.

There's an obvious box office appeal to mindless entertainment, but even so, the fact that Worthers proved more appealing than a Han-Chewie buddy pic co-starring the Mother of Dragons is just...baffling.

The 2012 sequel, Wrath of the Titans, didn't however repeat the same success, grossing just $305.3 million worldwide.
