13 Outrageously Awful 2014 Performances That Deserve Razzies
10. Nicole Kidman As Grace Kelly - Grace Of Monaco
La Vie en Rose director Olivier Dahan delivered one of the year's biggest Oscar-baiting duds with the long-hyped Grace of Monaco, dubbed merrily by the movie press as "the Diana of 2014", in that it's an unworthy, feckless drama masquerading as a "prestige" pic, while roping in a talented actress deserving much better. Still, Nicole Kidman can do little to save the film, for though she bears a striking resemblance to the real Grace Kelly, she gives a mostly airless, boring performance here as the starlet, with an overwhelming amount of her screen time focusing on exaggerated glimpses of the star's beauty rather than the content of what comes out of her mouth. Quite ironic it is that a year ago, many Oscar pundits had already tipped Kidman for the Best Actress Oscar for this movie, but she'll in fact certainly be on the minds of Razzie voters over the next few weeks. Bland and overly mannered in the way that all of the worst biopics are, the usually reliable Kidman gives one of her worst performances, failing to tap into the surely fascinating content of the iconic figure she's playing.
