13 Outrageously Awful 2015 Performances That Deserve Razzies

3. Chris Hemsworth - In The Heart Of The Sea

The Role: Owen Chase, the First Mate of the whaleship Essex, who desperately attempts to survive when the ship is sunk by a vengeful white whale. Why It's So Awful: Though Hemsworth completely nailed the British accent necessary to play racer James Hunt on Ron Howard last movie, Rush, he's completely lost at sea here as he attempts to approximate a Nantucket accent and fails horribly. His accent frequently switches back to his native Australian, sometimes hilariously even mid-sentence, and it suggests that either Hemsworth cut some corners while preparing for the role, or his accent coach did an atrocious job. Either way, it's distracting almost every time Hemsworth opens his mouth, and compounds just how disappointing the film was on the whole. And yep, he got the Razzie nod!
