3. No More Angelia Jolie-Brad Pitt Vanity Projects (Probably) - By The Sea
The Movie: Angelina Jolie's latest directorial project is a romantic drama starring herself and husband Brad Pitt...but it's been widely panned as a self-indulgent bore, far from the Oscar buzz it had been benefiting from all year. Despite its gorgeous European location cinematography, critics have mostly dismissed it as too slight and not "about" enough, while audiences haven't exactly been enamoured with it either. The Overlooked Positive: Maybe, just maybe, this will tell Jolie, who was infamously labeled an ego-maniac in last year's Sony hack, that her vanity projects aren't really of interest to cinematic audiences, and the whole "Brangelina" thing isn't really enough to sell a movie anymore. Give us some real substance and get back to us, Ang.
