13 Overlooked Positives About 2015’s Worst Movies

12. That John Cusack Cameo - Hot Tub Time Machine 2

The Movie: There was a lot of hope that this would be a 22 Jump Street-esque sequel which drew attention to how utterly unnecessary it was, but succeeded thanks to clever writing and stellar cast chemistry. No such luck: there's (almost) no John Cusack, the script largely just rehashes gags from the first film, and it's painfully abundant that the budget was slashed due to Cusack's absence. The Overlooked Positive: Though Cusack doesn't appear in the theatrical version of the film for some God-forsaken reason, he does show up in the Unrated cut, hence why it's very clearly overlooked. In this version, his Adam character from the first movie shows up at the end and blows Lou's head off with a shotgun, before explaining that the gang needs to follow him through the time machine to Cincinnati. The cameo may be less than a minute in length, but at least it connected this feckless sequel to the original movie a little more convincingly.
