13 Potentially Terrifying Horror Films Coming Out In 2018
3. Halloween
Like the franchise’s Shatner-faced Boogeyman, the Halloween series will never die – forty years since the original slashed onto screens, not many years go by without a sequel or reboot. But this time around, we’re in for something totally different.
The rights to the series have been passed from Dimension Films to Blumhouse Productions and Pineapple Express helmer David Gordon Green is set to direct, bringing his comedic muse Danny McBride along to write the script. Rest assured, McBride has played down any worries that this will be a comedy, instead promising it to be a reimaging of sorts.
Tantalisingly, all sequels have been disregarded and Halloween H2018 (doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but whatever) takes place after the events of the first movie, with Laurie Strode back in the fold, coming face to face with big scary bro Michael Myers.
It wouldn’t be a Halloween flick without Jamie Lee Curtis in the fold, and having read the script she was immediately on board. Throw in two big thumbs up from creator John Carpenter himself and its safe to say that Halloween is going to be returning to its stalky, scary roots again.
