Though there is a decidedly vocal online community against Jason Reitman's Juno, there's no denying its popularity: the movie scored 4 Oscar nominations (including Best Picture, back when the field only had 5 nominees) and winning one for its screenplay, while it grossed an obscene $231 million at the box office against a $7 million budget. Though the backlash against the film is largely addressed to its status as self-consciously quirky "hipster bait" and often feels needlessly aggressive, there is one horrendous line that especially sticks out as blood-boilingly cutesy. While the "This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet" line is pretty close to the margin, here's the kicker: Juno MacGuff: I'm pregnant. Leah: What? Honest to blog? No doubt school playgrounds and university campuses the world over were filled with people reciting Diablo Cody's dialogue ad nauseum in the wake of the movie's release, but this is one that really stings. It's eye-rollingly twee, and though it picked up considerable popularity as a go-to-catchphrase in 2008, it thankfully fizzled out rather quickly.
