Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight is certainly one of his greatest accomplishments and was highly influential in changing how audiences and filmmakers approached the Hollywood blockbuster. That said, it's still not immune to some creaky scripting, as occurs during Harvey Dent's press conference, where he announces that he is, in fact, Batman. Everyone remembers the line, "Things are worse than ever", though in fairness, there's nothing wrong with the writing there: that's all about the horribly robotic actor who was given the line. One line that truly blows, though, is when a cop shouts, "No more dead cops!" It's so ridiculously blunt and feels totally at odds with what an actual human being would say: were we talking about the Batman comic book, the line might've worked, but on screen in a gritty adaptation, it just sounds stupid and forced.
