7. Super Troopers 2

Some might argue that Super Troopers 2 instantly qualifies as a cult classic, considering it's the sequel to one of the most-revered stoner comedies of the 2000s. However, you need only look as far as all those terrible belated follow-ups to cult comedies - namely Dumb and Dumber To and Zoolander - to see how a pass isn't automatically granted.

Is Super Troopers 2 a good movie? It is not. It doubles down on everything unappealing about the first film, is nowhere near as charming about it and most certainly wasn't worth the near-20-year wait.

And yet, there's still a naff likeability to it, that the sheer fact the movie even exists is way more of an achievement than a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score or a $500 million box office cume.

If someone totally cold to these movies catches you watching it, they'll probably recoil in disgust at its awfulness, but for those many devoted fans of the original, it still retains that warm familiarity that those soulless aforementioned sequels just don't.
