If there's one aspect of Spectre that left us begging for more, it was the presence of Franz Oberhauser, who is of course revealed to be Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the film's third act. Sadly Christoph Waltz only appears briefly during the film, so it's a relief that he wasn't killed off, but rather is arrested and presumably saved for another movie. Now, it's entirely possible that Blofeld will be absent from the next film, and Waltz's schedule will surely play a part in that, but the filmmakers really need to strike while the iron's hot (or lukewarm, at least) and milk this thing for all it's worth. As audiences have now been introduced to the new take on the character, there's no reason not to expand his disappointingly small role and make him the persistent villain in the next movie. But the less said about those motives, the better.
