7. The Villain Is Just As Bad As You Remember

Vincent D'Onofrio is a talented character actor, but this turn as Vic Hoskins will no doubt end up being one of his weaker film roles.

This antagonist is basically a rehashing of Dennis Nedry from the original and while that character wasn't a very good villain either, this guy is quite a lot worse.

The subplot of him trying to steal the embryos felt too rushed and didn't fit in organically with the rest of the story. It would've been better to put this all into Fallen Kingdom, as dinosaurs being stolen is the main focus of the film. Hoskins is also an under-written character with zero personality, and yet another depressing example of a strong actor being wasted on a terrible blockbuster villain.

His evil plan isn't even explained properly, and it would've made more sense to make Henry Wu the main villain, since Wu is a far better character. Fallen Kingdom brought in another two talented actors as the villains - Toby Jones and Rafe Spall - but luckily the villains were good this time around and the actors weren't wasted.
