2. Who Are The Stilt Walkers? - Mad Max: Fury Road

The Question: Mid-way through the film, we see Max (Tom Hardy), Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and co. drive past a swamp which sees a number of people wearing camouflage and stilt-like objects on their limbs. No further context is given, and everyone looks pretty weirded out by it. The Likely Answer: There has been a ton of speculation about this online, and several interesting answers. The most obvious one is that these figures are simply humans who have adapted to life in the swamp by wearing stilts, possibly to avoid sinking in quicksand or perhaps to search for objects (namely riches) beneath the swamp. Hopefully the next film might elaborate more, because these guys became a fascinating talking point despite only being in Fury Road for mere seconds.
