13 Unlikely Movies That Might Exist 10 Years From Now

3. The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest

Why It's Unlikely: David Fincher's English-language re-adaptation of Stieg Larsson's hit novel released way back in 2011, with the two original sequels, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, initially planned to be shot back-to-back for 2013-2014 releases.

That obviously didn't happen, Fincher has since moved on, and Sony are reportedly planning a franchise reboot based on the fourth and most recent book, The Girl in the Spider's Web, to be directed by Don't Breathe's Fede Alvarez.

Neither Rooney Mara nor Daniel Craig are being sought to return, even though Mara is keen to, so the original roadmap looks very much dead in the water.

Why It Might Happen: Considering that Sony will have otherwise run out of material after adapting Spider's Web, it's entirely possible they will then revert to adapting Fire and Hornet's Nest into the English language, modifying the stories to incorporate changes from Spider's Web.

Or perhaps they'll decide to come up with an original story for the sequel (presuming the first one does well). Who knows?
