13 Upcoming Comic Book Movies That Could Beat Batman V Superman
9. X-Men: Apocalypse
Fans have a ton of reasons to be hyped for X-Men: Apocalypse: it finally brings the iconic villain to the screen (played by the superb Oscar Isaac no less), it pits Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel as Apocalypse's four horsemen, introduces young versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, and freaking Jubilee is even in the mix too. Much like BvS, it has a lot to juggle, but given Bryan Singer's track record with the franchise so far (his lowest-rated effort is the original X-Men, which rocks a solid 81% on Rotten Tomatoes), and how well he helmed the chaotic Days of Future Past, he should knock this one out of the park. In addition to all this, it's widely expected that a significant development will occur at the end of the film to kickstart a new X-Men trilogy, likely with the younger cast members taking the lead, with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy being relegated to supporting roles, and Jennifer Lawrence will probably be written out, as she is reportedly done with the franchise after this. It's gonna be epic, and as long as Apocalypse's scale is nailed, there's little reason to be worried about this one.
