13 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For

4. Space Jam 2

Space Jam 2
Warner Bros & NBA & Consequence of Sound

Release Date: TBA

One really has to ask who a Space Jam sequel is really going to be relevant to in 2017. Coming two decades after the original, kids who grew up with it will be adults and not necessarily keen on having their childhood sold back to them, while Bugs Bunny's decreasing relevance with kids in recent years means the movie could end up a box office bomb, much like 2003's Looney Tunes: Back in Action.

There was a time when Space Jam 2 was a feasible idea, but now? Warner Bros. would be better off just going the straight reboot route and using another popular animated character instead of Bugs...though that still sounds terrible.

Could It Be Any Good?: Justin Lin's (Fast Five, Star Trek Beyond) involvement as producer, director and co-writer is definitely interesting, and proposed star LeBron James proved in Trainwreck that he's definitely got some acting chops, but it's going to be hard for Lin and co. to shake that unmistakable air of desperation the whole project invites.
