13 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For
9. Die Hard: Year One
Release Date: TBA
Though 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard was met with wide pannings from both critics and fans alike, it still stirred up $300+ million worldwide on a $92 million budget, and so it was of little surprise when Fox confirmed that a sixth movie, part-prequel and part-sequel, was in the works.
Set in both 1979 and the present day, Die Hard: Year One will cut back between a young and middle-aged John McClane with a current terrorist event linking the two time periods. Word is the film will also feature a young Holly Gennero and show how she and John got together.
Except fans have pretty much given up on the franchise at this point, considering how awful the last one was, how little Bruce Willis seems to care about putting in good work these days, and the fact he's already 62 years old.
Could It Be Any Good?: With the right writer-director team, maybe, but it's hard to be enthusiastic for or optimistic about such a pandering, desperate premise, so probably not.
