13 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For

8. The Nut Job 2

The Nut Job 2
Open Road Films

Release Date: August 11

You probably didn't see this utterly horrendous 2014 animated flick, but with a solid $120.9 million worldwide box office tally, it's clear a lot of people did, and like almost all successful animations, a sequel was quickly greenlit.

The Nut Job 2 will see purple squirrel Surly (Will Arnett) squaring off against Oakton City's corrupt mayor (Bobby Moynihan) and a terrorist street mouse named Mr. Feng (Jackie Chan). Yup.

Could It Be Any Good?: Though the voice cast is undeniably talented (also including Bobby Cannavale, Peter Stormare, Maya Rudolph and Jeff Dunham), this looks every bit the low-effort, charmless slog the first film was, and let's face it, how often does Katherine Heigl appear in a good movie?
