By all outward appearances, Horrible Bosses is a movie premise you can pretty much only do once. It's so wacky and outlandish that audiences just wouldn't buy it a second time: three men conspire to assassinate each other's douchebag bosses in order to make their lives easier. The movie was a critical and commercial hit thanks to its inventive plot and excellent cast chemistry, especially the unexpected performance from Jennifer Aniston as a nymphomaniac dentist. Though all three main characters survived the movie, it seemed like a pretty open-and-shut case, that all of their bosses had been taken care of, and so there was nothing left to explore. However, this sequel will reportedly follow the trio as they set up businesses for themselves, yet their investor (Christoph Waltz) screws them over, and so they kidnap his son (Chris Pine) for a ransom. In addition to Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx and Aniston are confirmed to be returning also. Horrible Bosses 2 certainly has the potential to turn the original premise on its head, though with director Seth Gordon being replaced by the relatively untested Sean Anders, expectations aren't too high. Above all else, this could so easily have been a movie idea that didn't quite make it into production, but alas, it has.
