13 Upcoming Movie Sequels We Really Don’t Need

1. Resident Evil 6 (2015)

Depressingly, the Resident Evil movies are by far the most successful video game movie series ever, having grossed just north of $900 million worldwide, and basically being the only video game movies to do consistently strong business, despite how totally awful they are. The first Resident Evil movie was the most entertaining despite being the least faithful to the games, yet each subsequent entry has randomly thrown in elements from the games with the hope of this being sufficient for fans. In essence, these movies appeal more to casual fantasy fans than video game die-hards, and despite how nonsensical and braindead they tend to be, director Paul W.S. Anderson manages to turn a tidy profit every single time. According to Anderson, the sixth film will be the last in the series, likely ahead of an inevitable reboot. By this stage, the plot is so convoluted and hard to follow that they could easily just stop here and save us the headache. Which upcoming sequels just seem totally pointless and excessive to you?
