A Texas Chainsaw Massacre-like film from Singapore, Macabre is just murder, murder, murder. This is your archetypal hardcore horror, based in the classic setting of a house run by a demented, murderous family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsX5PzWNNms Newly-weds Adjie and Astrid and their three best friends decide to take a road trip as a last attempt to reunite Adjie and his little sister, Ladya. However, shortly into their journey they meet Maya, an odd girl who claims to have been robbed. The friends agree to give her a lift to her isolated house out in the sticks, where they meet Maya's mother Dara, and are invited to stay for dinner. This is where the night turns outrageously bloody, as Dara's oddball family spend the evening brutally hunting the six friends. The family are well-trained in the art of picking up stragglers, solely with the interests of eliminating them. Macabre is by no means the most disturbing film on the list, nor does it have the greatest story. It is classic horror though, with more than enough slashing and blood to keep you sickeningly entertained.
