14 Announced Movies That Are Never Coming Out
10. Mad Max: The Wasteland
Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the most acclaimed blockbusters of all time, scoring ten Oscar nominations (including Best Picture), winning six, and easily doubling its budget despite a huge $150 million budget and an R rating.
The very month the movie released, May 2015, director George Miller confirmed that a sequel was in the works with significant material already gathered for it.
Mad Max's enormous success - and inevitable gangbusters business on home video - should've allowed The Wasteland to slide into production by now, but due to a lawsuit between Miller and Warner Bros. over an unpaid $7 million bonus, shooting is being held up.
Considering that the lawsuit could (and probably will) drag on for years, it's quite possible a 73-year-old Miller will be too old to direct such a physically demanding film, and it's hard to imagine Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron wanting to make it without his singular voice.
Plus, if Venom takes off, that's going to throw another obstacle in the movie's way: Hardy's schedule will tighten up, and his salary demands could skyrocket.
