14 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The DCEU

4. Fans Will Keep Getting Fooled By Awesome Trailers

Warner Bros. are three-for-three when it comes to marketing their movies with an epic, operatic feel and absolutely beautiful visuals. Man of Steel looked incredible but opened to mixed reviews and a merely decent box office, Batman v Superman looked awesome (despite a few marketing issues) yet released to poor reviews and a disappointing box office, and Suicide Squad was arguably the best-marketed of the three movies and similarly received critical pannings even if it grossed far more than anyone could've expected a year ago.

We as fans of these characters keep allowing ourselves to be fooled by impeccably-edited trailers that do a fantastic job selling audiences on characters, visuals and action, while concealing those plot and editing issues that so reliably arrive in the final product.

Fans said after BvS, "we won't get fooled again", only to buy relentlessly into the Suicide Squad hype and be let down again. Now fans are once more saying "never again", only to rapturously cheer the arrival of the Justice League teaser, while proclaiming Warner to have learned their lesson.

If Justice League ends up being mediocre, fans will only have themselves to blame for getting tricked four times in a row. No matter how good these movies look, it's best to keep your expectations firmly in the middle until the DCEU begins picking up some momentum (if it indeed ever does).
