14 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The DCEU
10. Christopher Nolan Has Quietly Distanced Himself From It
It was initially believed that Christopher Nolan would serve as the "Godfather" of the DCEU moving forward, after contributing to Man of Steel's story and serving as producer, as well as getting a lucrative executive producer credit on Batman v Superman.
However, in 2014 Nolan quietly cut ties with the franchise entirely beyond that EP credit, which while perhaps indicative of his desire to do different things creatively (such as his upcoming Dunkirk), could arguably also reflect his desire to disembark a sinking ship before it harms his reputation.
It's easy to understand why Nolan's exit was so low-key, because making a big deal about it would hurt Batman v Superman's PR push, but that doesn't mean he did it amicably. Either way, considering how vital Nolan could've been moving forward, it's a shame these characters will be left with talents who are decidedly less consistent.
