14 Directors Who Desperately Need A Hit Movie

14. The Wachowskis

The Wachowskis shot to fame with the success of their classic 1999 sci-fi actioner The Matrix, but since the trilogy came to an end, the pair have struggled to find much success in the blockbuster filmmaking sphere.

All three of their post-Matrix tentpoles, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending, have been colossal box office flops, after which they themselves even admitted that they'll probably never get a $100+ million budget again.

Will It Happen?: As of late the sisters have been directing episodes of their recently-cancelled Netflix show Sense8, but sadly they don't have any theatrical movie projects on the horizon whatsoever. It seems most likely they'll either keep working in TV or maybe go back to making smaller movies like their debut feature Bound.

A blockbuster comeback, though? Sadly, after three consecutive, high-profile bombs, it doesn't seem probable that any studio would want to give them the time of day.
