James Ponsoldt's cyber-thriller is a very, very bad and disappointing movie in pretty much every regard, and though Emma Watson gives yet another bungled attempt at an American accent, it's supporting player Ellar Coltrane who really stinks the joint up.

Why It's Dumb: Remember Ellar Coltrane? He rose to prominence for his remarkable performance in Richard Linklater's Boyhood, where he played young Mason through 12 years of his life, which Linklater condensed down into one seamless movie.

Well, in The Circle, he plays Watson's childhood friend who expresses extreme skepticism over the mounting abundance of technology in their lives.

Unfortunately, Coltrane bombs every single scene he appears in, almost enough to make you wonder whether or not his Boyhood role was a combination of luck and simply working with such a talented director who guided his performance all the way.
